Description
My design draws much of its influence from Danish Modern furniture, as can be notably seen in the legs and lightness of form. A circular dish in the seat provides comfort and visual interest. The circumference of this dish bisects each leg’s through tenon in the seat. This novel detail was an idée fixe from early on in the design process, which I sought to execute despite its seeming unfeasibility. The Sputnik Stool is made from FSC certified American oak and finished with a wax blend.
