With the Elle, two L-shaped sections provide seating and a table area satisfying the key functional criteria I was looking for. By angling the uprights I wanted to provide visual interest and minimise the encroachment of the table on the bench seating. This also provided a pleasant contrast between the functional simplicity and slightly unusual geometric construction.
