I believe in the beauty of the mundane. I wanted to create a simple, elegant piece of furniture that would provide an environment for these basic objects we take through life to be framed and celebrated. I was inspired by the line drawings of Josef Albers and the graceful forms in his paintings. The cabinet work of James Krenov inspired the divided spaces and proportions of the overall unit.
