The key criteria include the quality of materials used, quality of finish, selection of materials and their harmonious blend, is the piece aesthetically pleasing on the eye, with judges evaluating the artistic elements to achieve form, balance, proportion, the degree of difficulty / and the execution of crafts skills considering the environment/setting, functionality, durability and sustainability. Great design in conjunction with innovation and originality will be rewarded with extra marks.
The winner for 2015 was Earl Pinto for Simon Coat Stand
Simon is a solid timber free standing coat / hat stand where antlers hold the coats and hats and umbrellas hang on the halving joint. It has an oiled finish and is available in a number of Australian timbers and birch ply.
